The Coinage of the Cholas
- Rajaraja I brought entire South India and Srilanka under his control.
- Rajendra I have conquered for eastern countries like Kadaram, Sumatra, Java and Bengal. To commemorate this victory, he issued coins with legend ‘Gangai Konda Chola’.
- Rajendra Chola I has captured two crowns of Chera and Pandya and issued gold coins with legend ‘ Mudikonda ‘ Chola’ in Granta.
- Kulottunga I issued coins by adopting punching technique.
- Chola Coinage was in vogue from 850 C.E. to 1250 C.E
