Gold

Gold occurs in India both as native gold associated with quartz veins of reefs and as alluvial or detrital gold in the sands and gravels of several rivers. The principal sources of this precious metal in India, however, are the quartz reefs traversing the Dharwar rocks of Kolar District (Karnataka) which are Auriferous at a few places.
