Ammonite

The fossils are the recognizable remains of animals and plants which lived in the past geological ages and preserved in the rocks of the earth's crust by natural process. It belongs to the phylum: Mollusca and class: Cephalopoda. The specimen giant Ammonite is collected from Ariyalur, near Tiruchirapalli. Geologically it belongs to cretaceous period. The characteristic feature of the fossil ammonite is that it contains complicated types of suture line.
