GOLDEN PLOVER

Plover have heavier and stouter bills. The plumage is some what rough and stiff. The three front toes are short and stout and are united by an incipient web at the base; the hind toe is absent. These birds are more or less nocturnal in their habits. It is found throughout India and inhabits mostly dry areas and wide, open country.
