Durga

Kidaramkondan, Mayavaram Taluk, Thanjavur District. About 15th Century AD.

Standing in tribhanga posture on the head of a buffalo with six arms. The right arms carrying respectively the following attributes-abhaya, cakra and sword. The three left arms carry katyavalambita, sankha and shield respectively. All the usual ornaments are present. Navel is stressed. Nose is very sharp and speaks of Vijayanagar artistic tradition.
